A Liebster from my Liebsten

Several weeks ago in the midst of my spring traveling adventures, My two friends, Laura and Leigh Anne, nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award. I didn’t really know what that meant until I had caught up on reading their blogs too.  Actually, I was nominated a third time by a friend of Laura’s, which was a total surprise to me. I had no idea she was reading my blog.

So what’s this Liebster Award about?

Before reading about it, I had an idea that it was something positive because “Liebster” comes from a German word, lieb. Liebster is a form of the word that someone probably just decided to use.  It basically means “sweetest, lovely, kind, beloved, endearing, loving, much loved.” You get the idea…its all about sharing the love! The idea of the Liebster Award is simple: to give recognition to your favorite bloggers that have fewer than 200 followers while also getting to know a bit more about each other.

Nominated by:

The Bright Side According to Laura, Musings from the LAW, and Cerebellum Chef. Danke schön an alle! 🙂 You should check out their blogs! Laura has been a dear friend of mine since my sophomore year in college when we worked together. She’s doing some amazing things in her life and I am proud to call her my friend. Leigh Anne was my resident my junior year and has also become a good friend. She’s about to graduate and I’m excited to see where life takes her. However, I’ve never actually met Sarah, but only heard about her through Laura.

Posed by Musing from the LAW:

  1. Why blog? I used to have a blog when I was an exchange student in Switzerland to keep up with family. I tried to start a blog again in college to write down my thoughts, but I was horrible at keeping up with it.  I’m also playing with the idea of keeping up with the blog even after Germany or creating a new blog of some sort.
  2. What’s with the title of your blog? In German, Abenteuer means adventure. I thought it would be perfect title for my blog while exploring and experiencing life in Germany.

  4. What is your favorite font? My go to font is candara, but I don’t know if it’s my favorite.
  5. If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be? Hmm…tough question bc I would love to go anywhere. However, I’ve never been to Asia and would love to explore it and experience the culture.
  6. What is your most read blog post? “You Never Who You’ll Meet in the City”
  7. Which of your posts has the least amount of views? Quick Update and Frustrated
  8. What is your favorite song…or top 5? Icono Pop “I Love It” ; Andy Grammar “Fine By Me”; Amos Lee “Keep It Loose, Keep It Tight”; Eric Hutchinson “Rock ‘n’ Roll”; Eli Young Band “Even If Breaks Your Heart” *sorry if the links are to odd videos, there are strict copyright laws in Germany and its harder for me to find and watch original videos*

Although, I sometimes have to be careful in Germany because people aren’t nearly as friendly as Americans (this is a VERY general statement. What I mean is that most Germans don’t do small talk of any sort with strangers in public or at least its rather rare)

Creating Awesomeness in the World

Today the sun shined for more than 30 minutes, which is the first time it has done so in several months. I was so ecstatic that I walked to the train station instead of taking the bus, just so I could absorb any amount of Vitamin D. I was just so happy that I could see bits of blue sky and actual rays of sunshine! I have truly missed the sun! I feel re-energized and ready to tackle the crazy week ahead of me!

Anyways, the real reason for this post is that I want to share  this video with everyone. I had seen it on Facebook recently, but never watched it. For some reason, I decided to watch it today. I think the pep talk really spoke to me. I think it’s a rather inspirational and cute video. Bravo to the creators!!

Here are my two favorite quotes:

“It’s everybody’s duty to give the world a reason to dance!”

“Create something that will make the world awesome!”

To everyone that has been an encouragement in my lie, THANK YOU!!! I’m grateful for your presence in my life!

For those of you that watched it, what are you favorite quotes from the video? Don’t forget to pass it along!
