The beginning of an Amazing Adventure

Hello Everyone!

Almost a year ago, I began the application process for the prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (for future reference, I will abbreviatie this to ETA). I knew I wanted to do the Fulbright since my sophomore year of College. However, I was doubtful about the likelihood I would actually be accepted into the program. Fast forward to March, I receive a life changing email that I’ve been accepted to the program. For this post, I want to briefly explain why I’ve created the blog. In the next 6 weeks or so, I want to reflect on the various important moments that have marked this incredible journey plus talk about the preparations for the journey. Once I’m in Germany,  I will keep this updated with the various happenings in my life and reflections about experiences.

As part of this post, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported me on this journey. I wouldn’t have been able to do without the support. It would take me hours to thank each individual person so I wanted to publicly thank everyone. However, there were two people that were integral parts of helping me with the application process: Caroline Morris and Keri Swanson. They both spent hours helping me edit my essays as well as helping me with word choice on the application.

For now, this will work as my first post. Please look back frequently for updates.

P.S. Please bare with me. I will be editing and formatting the blog over the next couple of weeks. I’m not exactly happy with it currently. Thanks!
